The greater Horn of Africa, along with the themes of water, nuclear disarmament and the Middle East, will be the primary focus of the United Nations advocacy week of the WCC. It brings together around sixty key people responsible for international affairs and advocacy in WCC member churches, specialized ministries and ecumenical organizations.

The 28 October to 2 November gathering enables the ecumenical players to advance co-operation and advocacy on strategic issues in the current international political environment at the United Nations. The meeting is organized by the United Nations Liaison Office of the WCC in New York.
